Between yes and happily ever after, there is the JMMB Bridal Registry
Beginning married life together is one of the biggest steps that any couple can make, involving big dreams and plans. The tradition of presenting gifts to the bride and groom acknowledges the desire of friends and family to help newly-weds get off to a smooth start in life. A gift certificate from JMMB’s new Bridal Registry is one way to honour the wedding event with a gift for modern times.
JMMB’s Bridal Registry gives newly-weds an opportunity to invest in their future together with the help of loved ones. In addition, the convenience of the JMMB Bridal Registry allows family and friends to contribute (and the bride and groom to benefit!) no matter where they are in the world. Once the bridal registry account has been opened, JMMB will present the bride and groom with elegant bridal registry announcement cards for distribution to wedding guests.
How the Bridal Registry works
The JMMB Bridal Registry is an account that allows newly-weds to receive gifts in cash instead of kind and it only takes J$500 or US$100 to get started. The bride and groom select JMMB as their bridal registry and advise their guests in the traditional fashion. Individuals may then choose to contribute to the account an amount reflecting their gift to the bride and groom. Contributions may be made in either Jamaican or U.S. dollars.
Opening a Bridal Registry Account
Once the bride and groom have selected JMMB as their bridal registry, either one may visit JMMB to open the account. The account may be opened with a minimum of J$500 or US$100. Procedures are the same as for opening a normal JMMB fund account and include the presentation of 2 valid IDs.
Purchasing the Gift
Family and friends who choose the JMMB bridal registry simply visit the nearest JMMB office, bringing the announcement card with them. They present the card and add their contribution to the account using either U.S. or Jamaican dollars.
How the Gift will be presented
Once a contribution is made to the registry, JMMB will produce the actual gift certificate reflecting the contribution and this will be presented to the bride and groom in the giver’s name.
